United Way of Oxford & Lafayette County Announces Kurt Brummett as New Executive Director

Oxford, Miss – United Way of Oxford and Lafayette County (UWOLC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kurt Brummett as its new Executive Director. Brummett was formerly the Research & Innovation Director of Three Rivers Planning & Development District.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kurt to our UWOLC team,” says Bryon Cohron, Board Chair. “Kurt’s passion for our community and for the work of UWOLC will enhance our services and allow us to reach more people than ever before.”

Brummett is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He first earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and later obtained his Master of Arts while serving as a Graduate and Research Assistant. Following graduation, Mr. Brummett worked 14 years for Three Rivers Planning & Development District in Pontotoc, Miss, where he partnered with local governments and other entities to promote community and economic development.

Cohron says, “Mr. Brummett’s significant experience in research, collaboration and non-profit management made him the natural choice to serve as UWOLC’s fourth executive director.”

“I am honored and humbled at the opportunity to join the United Way team and serve as the UWOLC’s Executive Director. The United Way means so much to so many and I look forward to advancing the mission of the UWOLC as it improves lives and meets needs throughout the LOU community,” says Mr. Brummett.
