The 7th year for The Feed the Hunger Pack a thon is scheduled for this month.
Oxford, Lafayette County, and University students come together for packing sessions to pack food to be sent to Kenya, Haiti and rural Kentucky. Our goal this year is to pack 180,000 meals to reach the goal of 1 million meals packed in 7 years. The event will be held this year at Oxford Intermediate School gym, Martin Luther King Drive on Friday, February 17 from 6:30 – 8:30 and Saturday, February 18 9am-11,12-2,3-5.

Over the Christmas break, seven Ole Miss students and two relatives of students and National Feed the Hunger representatives went to Haiti to deliver meals that were packed in Oxford last year.
The pack a thon was started seven years ago by Mary Katherine Phillips when she was a student at Ole Miss. She now owns Katherine Beck store on the Square in Oxford.

Participants are asked to bring donations for the local program Love Packs. We will be collecting Beenie Weenies,pop top soup or ravioli, apple sauce or granola bars.
Money for the event is raised through donations from campus organizations and local businesses and churches.
